Specifying module notification events

Notification events are received when your applet needs to respond to a stimulus; for example, the device ringing.

To add a notification event

  1. From the Applets tab of the Resource Manager window, click the Notifications tab.

The Notifications panel opens, displaying a list of notifications that a class in the module is to receive.

  2. Click Add to create a new notification.
  3. To edit the notification, do the following.
    • If the class providing the notification is a Brew MP system class, select System, then select one of the following predefined types of system classes:

      AEECLSID_NET

      AEECLSID_SHELL

      AEECLSID_TAPI

In the Mask field, the selection from the drop-down list determines which notifications are sent to the class receiving the notification. This drop-down list changes according to which type of system class is selected above.

    • If the notification is being provided by a non-Brew MP class, select Custom and enter the unique number of the class. In the Mask field, enter the number of the mask that determines which notifications are sent to the class receiving the notification. A mask of 0xFFFFFFFF specifies all notifications; a mask of 0x00000000 specifies no notification.
    • Click on an existing notification to modify it.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Click Delete to delete a notification.
