Adding files to a target

Before adding a file to a target the Loader verifies whether or not there is room on the target for the file. Loader compares the available space on the target with the size required to physically store the file on the device. If the file size exceeds the available space on the target, the Loader does not add the file. target memory information is listed in the bottom of the Loader GUI.

Note: Target(s) refers to either a Brew MP device or a Brew MP simulation target.

Use one of the following procedures to copy files from your computer to the device.

To add files to a target using drag and drop

  1. Select the file(s) to copy from your computer.
  2. Click and drag the mouse to the directory in Loader to which you want to copy the files and then release the mouse button to copy the files.

The files are copied to the target directory.

To add files to a target using the clipboard

  1. Select the files to copy from your computer.
  2. Right-click the selected files and select Copy.
  3. Right-click the target directory in Loader to which you want to copy the files and select the Paste icon in the Loader GUI.

The files are copied to the target directory.

To add a file to a target using the File menu

  1. In the Loader GUI, select the folder you want to load the file to. From the Loader main window, click File > New File.

    The New File dialog opens.

  2. Type the valid path to a file from your hard disk (for example, ) or click Browse to find a file.
  3. Type the valid path as it will exist on the target (for example, /c_application/c_application.mod).
  4. Click OK.

The file is added to the device's file system, and the Loader main window shows the file.

Note: You receive a warning if you are trying to overwrite a file that already exists on the device.
