Connecting to a device

When you start the Logger, the Connection Manager appears as shown below in front of the main window.

A red dot icon in the status bar at the bottom of the Logger GUI indicates that the device is not connected to the Logger.

  1. Select the connection type from the first drop-down menu.
  2. Select the device to connect to in the second drop-down menu.
  3. Click OK. The status bar at the bottom of the main window indicates a connection by showing a green dot icon.

Developer Mode enable

If a valid signature file is not in the device directory, the device will need to be Developer Mode enabled. A Developer Mode dialog will appear when you are connecting to the device using Connection Manager, as shown in the following image.

If your device is already Developer Mode enabled, this dialog will not appear.

To Developer Mode enable your device:

  1. Select Signature File to load a valid signature file to the device.
    • Note: The Developer Enable Service is no longer available via the Brew MP Account option. Use a Signature File instead.
  2. Signature File: next to the Location field, click Browse to navigate to the location of the device signature file on your computer.
  3. Once you have made your selections, click Connect to Developer Mode enable the device and connect to the device.

For more information on Developer Mode, see the Developer Mode Tech Guide on the Brew MP website.
