Creating a target

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Select the Create Target icon.

    • Select Action > Create Simulator Target.
    • Press Ctrl + T.

The Create Simulator Target dialog opens.

Available platforms are listed under Device Profiles. Click the arrow next to a platform to display profiles associated with that platform.

  2. Select a profile by clicking on it under the desired platform. The profile image displays on the right, and the Name field is populated with a default value for that profile and platform version. You can edit the target name or use the default name, then click Create.

A Progress dialog displays, as shown in the image below.

  3. Once the target is created, select Run in the Progress dialog to launch the target. Selecting Close shuts down the Progress dialog.

The newly created target is included in the list of Simulator Targets. Double-clicking a target in the list launches the target.

Deleting targets

  1. To delete a target, select the target you wish to delete in the Simulator Targets pane.

  2. Select Edit > Delete, or right-click on the target and select Delete.

A dialog displays while the target is being removed.

  3. Once the target has been deleted, it is no longer listed in the Simulator Targets pane of the Target Manager.

Running a target

To launch a target, do one of the following:

  • Double-click the target name in the Simulator Targets list.
  • Select a target from the Simulator Targets list, and select Action > Run Target.

Once a target is running, you can stop it by closing the target GUI, or selecting the running target from the Simulator Targets list, and click Action > Kill Target.

Showing target in Windows Explorer

To show a target in Windows explorer, do the following.

  1. Select the target from the Simulator Targets list.
  2. Select Action > Show in Explorer.

Windows Explorer opens at the target location on your machine.

Importing a profile

When importing a profile to Target Manager, the supporting Brew MP Platform installed for that profile should be installed on your machine.

To import a profile to Target Manager, do the following:

  1. Select File > Import Profile.

    An import profile dialog displays

  2. In the import profile dialog select Browse, and navigate to the desired .bdpp file on your machine, and click Open.
  3. In the Import Profile dialog, select Import.

The profile is listed under Device Profiles in the Target Manager GUI.

Editing the device profiles and targets directories

  1. In the Target Manager GUI, select Edit > Preferences. The Preferences dialog displays, as shown in the image below.

  2. To change the device profiles directory or targets directory, click Browse next to the directory you want to edit. A Browse For Folder dialog displays, where an existing folder can be selected or a new folder created and selected. When you have selected a folder, click OK.
  3. Once you change the device profile or target directory, the Restore Defaults button is enabled. Click Restore Defaults to return the directories to default.
  4. When you are finished editing preferences, click Save to save any changes.

Note that when you change the profile or target directories used, any existing profiles or targets in the old directory need to be manually moved to the new directory to continue using them.
