Input cycle mode

Hi All,
Is it possible to come back to symbol entry mode, after entering one symbol without cycling thru the whole chain?
As of now after going to sym mode and selecting one symbol it goes to next input mode then i need to cycle thru all modes to comeback again to sym entry mode??
